Welcome to your dream wedding destination in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago.
Nestled in the heart of downtown Crystal Lake, Illinois, The Ellery is a restored historic wedding and event venue offering couples throughout Chicago's Northwest Suburbs a light-filled, elegant space to celebrate. Originally built in the 1920s, our building blends timeless architectural character — vaulted ballroom ceilings, original hardwood floors — with a fresh, modern update designed to serve as a blank canvas for your vision, not someone else's. We believe your wedding day should reflect you, which is why we don't require exclusive vendors and offer a BYOB bar policy, giving you real flexibility and value without sacrificing style. Whether you're planning an intimate gathering or a reception for up to 200 guests, The Ellery is ready to bring your celebration to life. Schedule a tour and see it for yourself.
We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Your Vision, Our Space
At The Ellery, we give you the freedom to design your day exactly the way you imagine it. Our venue is designed for flexibility so you can choose the vendors, food, and drinks that fit your style and budget.
Choose Your Own Vendors
We don’t tie you into exclusive or in-house services. Bring in any vendors—caterers, bartenders, florists, DJs, planners—who align with your style and budget. Need inspiration? Our Preferred Vendor List showcases local professionals who know our venue inside and out—but it’s totally optional.
BYOB
Skip the upsells and per-person fees—our BYOB policy lets you bring your own beer, wine, and spirits. Your licensed bartender handles service and guides you on quantities and logistics. That means full control over what you serve—and better value for you. We have both bartending companies and caterers on our preferred vendor lists that can handle this with ease!
